As predicted here last week, the Uptown paper of record has followed the lead of other McClatchy outlets and announced layoffs and outsourcing of ad work.

A whopping 25 of 41 ad design jobs — 60 percent — are being sent to India and the Philippines. The other interesting bit of news is a claim by publisher Ann Caulkins that online ads are growing rapidly but have yet to make up for losses on the print side.
