Well, well. Let’s hope Jake Delhomme arm gets better because he surely has a ton of targets now. The Panthers added free-agent WR D.J. Hackett to the receiving corps today, out-bidding several other teams in the process. Does that mean another ticket hike is coming, Jerry?
I don’t think Carolina overpaid either, not if Hackett can be a legit No. 2 receiver. His agent says the perception of Hackett as injury-prone is mistaken and based on the Seahawks “stashing” the four-year player out of Colorado on IR repeatedly over the years.
We’ll find out soon enough.
Update: Steve Reed notes the scuttle-butt that Julius Peppers was spotted in Denver over the weekend. Denver was also the site of a big NFL party hosted by LenDale White. White went to USC, former Panther WR Keary Colbert went to USC, and just signed with Denver. Just wondering.
