Here’s the bizarre stat of the year. The Panthers shut out and totally dominate the Rams offense and Julius Peppers not only is missing from any of the seven Panther sacks on the day, according to the official stats, Pep does not get a single tackle.
But watch the tape and you’ll see Peppers being held on many plays, some of which were called by one of the most bumbling officiating crews of the year. Let’s all be thankful this was not a tight game or who knows what would have transpired.
Deshaun Foster’s elbow injury is a worry; would not be surprised to see him miss the Redskin game and Nick Goings get the start in his place. But Washington still has to go in the should-win category even with the Panther passing game hitting on about 5 cylinders right now.
This is crunch time. Either the Panthers step up and take the South division by the throat or slide down and end up hoping and wishing come December.
