Way back in May I wondered about cutting veteran lineman and 30-game starter Keydrick Vincent loose. Within weeks Tampa Bay had snapped him up. Now six weeks into the season the Panthers have benched Vincent’s replacement, Mackenzy Bernadeau.

Jeff Otah — it seems — is going to miss at least half this season with a mysterious inability to recover from a December knee surgery. The Panthers simply assumed that Otah would be back, making Vincent expendable in their minds.
