Parents are often the best educational advocates for their child. Research indicates that being involved in your child’s education has a positive correlation with being successful in school. The parents will learn how to be engaged in their child’s education.

If parents and guardians, “are often the best educational advocates for their child,” why don’t we allow them to choose the school that best meets the needs of their children?
The truth is that being an “advocate” will not get parents very far in a system that largely refuses their right to choose an alternative.
