PART’s board of directors held what could be described as an emergency meeting yesterday, given the fact that no meeting was originally scheduled for July. Doesn’t appear as though much was accomplished, given the fact the agency is still in ‘survival mode,’ as stated by N.C. Transportation board member Michael Fox.
Some creative financing options were discussed, however. Davie County would contribute $60,000 in exchange for federal funding for an air-quality awareness program in the county school system.
Strike anyone else as odd that our government is on the brink of default and here we $60k being floated just for kicks?
