Cut out government and insurance company middle men, and you can improve the relationship between a primary care doctor and her patients — leading to better health care.

That’s the idea behind direct primary care. Dr. Amy Walsh, owner of a DPC practice in Raleigh named doctor direct, shared her experiences with the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Walsh explains why direct primary care avoids involvement with insurance.
