It’s campaign season. Asheville City Council cancelled a couple meetings, and the Buncombe County Commissioners cancelled theirs for failing to make a quorum.

Yet Selina Sullivan remains in the news. After being arrested for writing a worthless check in the amount of $1500, Selina Sullivan is not dropping out of the race. The check was written for a religious revival for which Sullivan was managing finances and attendance. Sullivan is an accountant by profession, and the values of bad checks written in connection with the event may total $20,000. Allegations are flying that a background check revealed Sullivan was investigated as the prime suspect in a prior incidence of fraud with Bi-Lo. No charges were pressed. Sullivan indicates she is not going to be intimidated by political maneuvers to remove her from the race.
