The Education Cabinet is hard at work. They are looking at ways that the public schools, university system, and community colleges can work together to improve education, I suppose.
I do not expect the Cabinet to achieve much. After all, Cabinet participants dig special interest groups like the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE). These groups have made it clear that some reforms are acceptable (increase funding) and others are not (increase charter schools). Further, the education establishment will ensure that teacher education programs and schools of education will remain unchanged. Put simply, expect more of the same.
