Hmmm. That’s what I take away from Daren Bakst’s breakdown of the candidates’ recent comments on the issue in Asheville.
This would also seem to be an example of the urban vs. rural thing. Pat is totally comfortable defending the status quo process for urbanization while Bev Perdue reveals a bit of suspicion for the city slickers.
Of course the proper thing to keep in mind is the extent to which property owners in the state are protected against government land-grabs. Answer: Not very much at all.
