Via WRAL, Gov. Bev Perdue has vetoed HB2, Protect Health Care Freedom, the bill both exempting North Carolinians from the individual mandate in the federal health care legislation and ordering Attorney General Roy Cooper to join the multistate lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the law.

No telling whether the General Assembly will try to override the veto, but there’s no doubt where Perdue stands on ObamaCare, and how far she’s willing to go to defend it. You think this might be a campaign issue in 2012?

UPDATE, March 6, 1:25 p.m.: Expect an attempt in the House to override Perdue’s veto.
