Gov. Beverly Perdue’s latest flub — insulting Mississippi while criticizing North Carolina’s clear vote last week in favor of a marriage amendment — prompted John Locke Foundation President John Hood to compare the two states’ recent economic performance. The comparison did not favor the Tar Heel State. Hood’s observations on the topic attracted attention from Bill LuMaye at WPTF Radio, the Greensboro News & Record‘s “Off The Record” blog, and N.C. Senate Republicans.

The Senate GOP also highlighted Hood’s columns this week on a bad grade for North Carolina’s small business policies and the governor’s race between Walter Dalton and Pat McCrory. National Review Online’s “The Agenda” blog promoted Hood’s ideas for fixing state Medicaid problems, and the Beaufort Observer cited his work on the importance of tax and regulatory policies for a state’s economic growth.
