Ain’t technology grand. The royal plural recently spoke here about how Asheville City government is so transparent. They let people weigh in on matters until they’re blue in the face – so city council can slip in some heavy new unpublished language at the meetings for the actual vote. Council does not violate its own rules if it does this with unanimous approval. It just isn’t very nice to the public.
Today, we read in the local daily about Buncombe County wanting to “ban the box.” The moral of this story appears to be we are now capable of keeping such complete and thorough records on everybody, we realize those records don’t really reflect much.
