Jackson Toby, professor of sociology and former director of the Institute for Criminological Research at Rutgers University. He received his PhD from Harvard in 1951.

Toby is the author of The Lowering of Higher Education in America: Why Financial Aid Should Be Based on Student Performance. He has published more than 50 opinion pieces in large-circulation newspapers like the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post as well as The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and some smaller newspapers.
