Leah Byers was a Development Officer for the John Locke Foundation.

Prior to joining the Locke team, Leah was a Policy Analyst and Government Affairs Coordinator for the Civitas Institute. Her career in state government began in 2015 with internships in the offices of the Lieutenant Governor and the North Carolina House Majority Leader.

Leah earned her master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kentucky, completing her thesis research on the effects of state policies on charter school outcomes. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from North Carolina State University.
