Patrick Gleason is vice president state affairs at Americans for Tax Reform, a Washington-based advocacy and policy research organization founded in 1985 at the request of President Ronald Reagan. In addition to leading ATR’s state government affairs department, Gleason is as senior fellow at the Beacon Center of Tennessee, a free market think tank based in Nashville. Gleason is a regular contributor to Forbes, where he covers the intersection of state and federal policy and politics. Gleason’s writing and commentary have also been published in The Economist, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Reuters, and Politico, among others.
