Trip Stallings is the Director of Policy Research at the Friday Institute at NCSU, where he managed the evaluation of North Carolina’s federal Race to the Top grant. He also regularly provides timely information about policy-relevant education research to North Carolina policymakers and other stakeholders with education policy decision-making responsibilities. Current and past project topics include school vouchers, online credit recovery, policy and funding structures for digital learning, and school connectivity. He has earned degrees in public policy (MPP, Duke University) and education policy and politics (Ph.D., The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), and has published dozens of papers, policy briefs, and book chapters on various education policy-related topics.
