The Western Standard has some great writing and this month’s Editor’s Note by Joe Woodard captures the “spirit” of the religion of the environmentalists:

It’s obvious to virtually anyone not already committed to the environmental faith, that green is becoming our new state religion.  What makes it “bad” religion is that it believes itself manifest, undeniable science.

We’ve had untold human sacrifices on the altars of the now discredited Population Bomb, the Global Ice Age, and Species Preservation, yet the environmental priesthood has never been called to account.  There were trials at Nuremburg, a truth commission in South Africa, and opened KGB files in Russia.  But environmentalism has never been forced to confess its human cost, never confessed even that it’s capable of error.  Sounds like religion.

One has to wonder if the environmentalists will ever apologize for saying how harmful DDT was to egg shells at the price of 20 million human dead of malaria because they could not use it to kill mosquitoes that carried the virus.  20 million dead is an environmental activists holocaust, when will they be called deniers?
