There is a fight in downtown Franklin over intangibles. Some time back, a Main Street program was launched. It was supposed to provide all that vibrancy and synergy government wasn’t, and it was funded by taxes. Today, a number of new merchants feel they are being left out of the loop, so they are beginning their own organization to provide all that vibrancy and synergy the Main Street program wasn’t. Mayor Bob Scott is a little torn. He wants to bring members of the community together, but he continues to have his powers to do so checked.
