The Susan G. Komen Foundation has decided to quit giving grants to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s leading live-fetus-destroying organization.

PP responds predictably that the Komen folks have bowed to right-wing bullying, and lament the many breast exams they no longer will be able to give as a cover for their raison d’etre, aborting fetuses.

But if you look at the figures in the above-linked story, you see that of the 4 million breast exams that PP claims to have given over the past five years, Komen grants funded only 170,000, or a mere 4 percent. I hardly think PP is going to go out of business because Komen refuses to fund 34,000 breast exams per year.

While the story helpfully points out how many breast exams PP has given in the past half decade, they don’t say how many babies have been killed by PP. I’ll help you out. In 2009 it was 332,278, up from 289,750 in 2006, or a 15 percent increase.

With business booming at a 5 percent increase per year for PP, I don’t think they’re going to miss their Komen grants.
