From our friends at the liberal think tank NC Policy Watch comes this reminder about Tuesday’s event at the legislature:

Story Idea: Planned Parenthood Truth Tour bus and rally(Tuesday, Raleigh)
The Big Pink Planned Parenthood Bus Tour rolls into Raleigh this Tuesday to spread the word that Planned Parenthood is an essential community provider that women, men and teens rely on for affordable preventative health care. Pro-choice activists from across North Carolina will rally in front of the legislative building (16 W. Jones Street, Raleigh) at noon. The rally comes amid extremist attacks on Planned Parenthood and family planning funding. Planned Parenthood Health Systems is a private, nonprofit family planning agency that respects and protects the rights to make informed reproductive decisions. Its mission is to provide accessible, high-quality health care and information to clients and to serve as advocate and educator to the community. From Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood, comes this curious defense of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding, which she says provides mammograms and which LiveAction.org illustrates through multiple phone calls to PP sites across the country, that the organization’s own staff says it does not.

What Planned Parenthood does is to provide — and make money from — abortions. Just read/listen to the words of Abby Johnson, a former PP clinic director in Texas, who left the organization after seeing on the monitor an unborn baby’s reaction to the medical probe as the abortion began. Johnson also says she was told to increase the number of abortion at her facility in order to make money.

If the idea of public funding for this organization’s abortions doesn’t make the hair stand up on your arms, I don’t know what will.
