A report generated by the Appalachian State University chapter of the American Association of University Professors concluded:
The university is suffering ‘administrative bloat,’ as evidenced by a 200% growth [rate] in high-ranking administrative positions since 1990.
Analysts are further disappointed that persons working in positions with “chancellor” and “provost” in the title are earning over $70,000 a year on average.
