Former state representative Bruce Goforth (D-Buncombe) has been hired as an advisor to House Speaker Thom Tillis (R-Mecklenburg). He will be paid $60,000 annually to use his expertise in navigating the legislature to advance government attempts to create a vibrant economy with more and better jobs.* It is expected the former Democrat will be able to help create “veto-proof” legislation. After being defeated in his last bid for re-election, Goforth changed his official party affiliation to UNA, claiming Democrats have become too progressive.

Prior to reading the article, I did not realize the governor had used your tax dollars to hire a team of lobbyists to work the General Assembly on her behalf.

*Viewing the matter as an objective alien from outer space, the problem with the economy would appear to be that money keeps winding up in the wrong places. Otherwise, government wouldn’t have to pay itself to put it back where it belongs. The game plan appears to be for government to take more from the successful to reward the unsuccessful until the last man sees it isn’t working.
