I found the following passage interesting:

Similarly worrisome to many workers is the rise in income inequality. Research by economists Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez shows that the top 10 percent of households grabbed 46 percent of the income in 2004, the most recent year for which numbers are available, versus 33 percent in 1970. Sounds really unfair until you realize that the top 10 percent are taking home a smaller share now than in 2000.
