I guess you don’t have to know how to spell to be a Pulitzer Prize
winner. E&P, the increasingly left-wing newspaper trade
publication, has a story about how AP is all in a dither because conservative bloggers have criticized the Pulitzer award winning photos.

The article quotes Will Bunch, a senior writer for the Philadephia Daily News and a winner of a Pulitzer in 1992 when he worked for Newsday, wrote on his blog today a column blasting the criticism of the Pulitzer photo choices and sticking up for the photographers.

These are people of remarkable bravery — dodging
bullets and crawling through slime on a regular basis for nothing more
than the public’s ability to see war as it really is fought.

The AP’s crime? In so many words, they are guilty of
showing the conflict in Iraq the way that it is, and not the way that
the conservative blogosphere wishes that it were. The right wants those
pictures of rose pedals and liberation parades that Dick Cheney
promised them three years ago, and now they’re mad they didn’t get them.

I doubt if the conservative bloggers will appreciate him trying to petal that message.
