French President François Hollande thinks that it is unfair that some kids get homework help from their parents and some don’t. Hollande argues that homework is a socioeconomic issue. Wealthier parents are more likely to assist their children on assignments brought home from school. This is not fair to lower income or disadvantaged children, who are more likely to have absent or poorly educated parents. But do not worry; the homework ban will be temporary. In a year or two, Hollande’s tax policies will make all French families equally poor, thereby eliminating any advantage.
