Who: Fred Barnes founded The Weekly Standard with Bill Kristol and John Podhoretz in 1995. In 1996, he joined Fox News as a political contributor. He co-hosts the Fox program “The Beltway Boys” with Mort Kondracke and regularly appears on “Special Report with Brit Hume.”

The Media Guide gives Barnes four stars – its highest rating – and calls him a “great political reporter-columnist” whose material is “exquisitely timed.”

Author of a book that outlined success stories from the first term of the Bush administration, Barnes is well-positioned to comment on the challenges the president faces with a new Congress run by Democrats.
