He is author of Creation of the American Revolution (winner of the prestigious Bancroft Prize); The Radicalism of the American Revolution (winner of the Pulitzer Prize); The Creation of the American Republic, 1776-1787; and The American Revolution: A History.

Wood earned his doctorate from Harvard University and has held teaching positions at Harvard, Cambridge University, and the College of William and Mary.

Although justly celebrated for being the greatest generation of leaders in American history, this country’s founders were not demigods, but real individuals who were the product of particular historical circumstances.

Wood will explore that theme as he discusses his newest book, Revolutionary Characters: What Made the Founders Different.
