Who: Ilario Pantano loved the U.S. Marine Corps so much, he enlisted twice. After serving in Operation Desert Storm, he left the Corps for college and the corporate world of New York City. But the September 11 terror attacks drew him back to the military. He told his wife: “They attacked our city, and I’m going to do something about it.”

By April 2004, the newly commissioned second lieutenant was on duty in Iraq, just as the insurgency was reaching new levels of violence. He drew international attention when his fatal shooting of two Iraqis led to capital murder charges.

A military hearing exonerated Pantano and showcased the respect his colleagues developed for his skilled leadership. Now he shares his story in the book Warlord: No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy.

Join Ilario Pantano as he offers his unique insight about the front lines of the Global War on Terrorism.
