North Carolina lawmakers took no action on redistricting reform in 2013, though a reform bill in the state House attracted support from more than half of the state’s elected representatives.
Despite legislative inaction in 2013, the N.C. Coalition for Lobbying and Government Reform will continue to make the case for reform this year. Coalition director Jane Pinsky discussed the issue today with the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Pinsky discusses key changes that should be incorporated into the process North Carolina uses to draw its election maps.
