Fourth District U.S. Rep. David Price thinks the inane “I’m Nick Danger and I approve this message” mandate for political ads run by candidates is so awesome it should be extended to ads financed by corporations.
Dome reports Price will introduce a bill

forcing corporations, labor unions and associations to abide by the same standards as candidates and political parties.

Price would expand the requirement to all Internet advertising and pre-recorded robocalls as well for candidates, organizations and companies. Paid online ads have become an increasingly popular ? and cheap ? way for candidates to spread their message.

(Meaning California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina would have had to appear in the now-viral — and wonderfully weird — “Demon sheep” ad.)

In a statement, Price said, “If candidates and political parties have to take responsibility for the ads they run, corporations and labor unions should have to do the same.”

Or Congress could give voters a little more credit for their intelligence, repeal the existing mandate, and let the messages in the advertisements stand on their own.
