Two pieces of heavy-handed legislation from Triad legislators.

Rep. Pricey Harrison has authored legislation that would ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs by 2016. Harrison said she felt like “we’re going this way anyway” and “the market may drive this.” Good. Then let the market drive it.

Then there’s this bill from Sen. Katie Dorsett, D-Guilford, that would make information on the HPV virus available to public school children in grades five through 12. What’s even more incredible is the bill passed 47-0 during yesterday’s initial vote.

Is this what Triad residents want from their representatives? I’m just asking.
