In my continuing effort to be fair and balanced, I hearby acknowledge Guilford enviro-Rep. Pricey Harrison for urging committee members proceed with caution on the Alcoa dam bill, saying the bill has moved too quickly without adequate review. (Gee, where have I heard that before?)

The bill still made it to the House floor, where it was voted down, with Harrison casting one of the 66 ‘no’ votes. This is interesting, considering the fact that bill supporters claim the state corporation that would ‘acquire’ Alcoa’s dams would create badly-needed ‘green jobs.’

But Locker Room’s Becki Gray —- who has done an excellent job reporting this issue — says “government takeover of a private business remains a possibility in North Carolina.”
