Yes, I’ve taken note of local bloggers’ criticism of the City of Greensboro’s weak —–but not inexpensive— online effort to land the Google broadband project. I’ll also be fair and note that those questioning the city’s effort are Google proponents, which is a nice contrast with the N&R’s blind boosterism.

But this is typical government— delivering way too little for way too much money. It’s also a prime example of why free-marketers rail against government involvement in economic development.

With all this in mind, it’s simply amazing that some people want the government to run healthcare.

Update: So where is council member Jim Kee in this whole Gogle deal? He’s too busy turning garbage into gold, another brilliant idea being entertained by our local government.
