Regarding Jon’s response to Professor Stone’s contention that liberals are interested in maximizing participation in public discussion, here is a story about the astoundingly intolerant administration at Holy Cross and the way it treats students who have the temerity to question the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Of course there are “liberals” like Stone who wouldn’t dream of slapping students around for expressing their views, but there are others who just get all hot and bothered when you disagree with their beliefs and if they have power to punish, have no qualms about using it.
