Get ready to hear even more about gas prices as the oil companies are announcing record profits.
I imagine the papers and talk shows will be filled with commentaries on
the high prices. I can hear O’Reilly now: Oil companies should
give back and take less profit.
On the NC front, if price caps on
gas are required, I think petroleum companies would be smart to simply
say: “You know what, we just won’t do business in NC.” They
should send a message to NC and other states. Of course, they
probably won’t do that because they will make more money with caps (at
least until a state goes beyond even bunny-boiling crazy).
