Louisville, Ky.’s lefty mayor Jerry Abramson sums up the liberal/progressive feeling about laws and constitutions after a smoking ban was ruled unconstitutional by the Kentucky Supreme Court:

“We’ve come too far as a progressive, forward-thinking community to let a legal technicality stand in our way,” Abramson said.

Sounds a lot like the reasoning in U.S. Supreme Court decisions by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and David Souter.
