Glad to see The Charlotte Observer has made a policy decision to identify all nonprofit organizations with their partisan support. Today they implemented this new practice in their article about the North Carolina Institute for Constitutional Law’s coming lawsuit over the state lottery. For example:

Prospective players are asking when they can start buying tickets, but a Republican-funded institute led by a former state Supreme Court justice is trying to halt scratching and winning…

AND

Robert Orr, executive director of the institute and a Republican former N.C. Supreme Court justice, said the lottery is an “implicit tax”…

AND

Orr’s institute was founded with money from the Pope family in Raleigh, prominent Republicans.

Looking forward to seeing their future stories in which they identify the “Democrat-funded Environmental Defense,” “the Center for Law and Poverty established by Gene Nichol, a prominent Democrat,” etc.
