I guess it’s natural that former Guilford County Schools Superintendent Terry Grier’s name would come up at public forums discussing what kind of human being should replace him:

The school board will compile the public comments and analyze them, but a summary of the forums so far would be that parents, teachers and school staff disliked former School Superintendent Terry Grier and want his replacement to be very different, but grudgingly concede that some of his innovations are successful and should be continued.

…..Another teacher said the superintendent should agree to substitute teach once a quarter, just to be in the trenches with teachers. She said Grier used to brag of his substitute teaching experienced, but when she suggested he do so in a county school, he bridled.

“He took offense and acted if I was asking him to do the dishes in the kitchen,” she said.

Perhaps this now officially marks the end of the Terry Grier era in Guilford County.
