By way of their Consent Agenda, the Buncombe County Commissioners accepted $14,017 from the federal government for Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation (WISEWOMAN). The program will provide assessment and counseling for older women (aged 40-64) with “Southern eating patterns.” Had the Buncombe County Health Center been unable to apply the funds, another provider for the service would have been sought.
