I’m up in the Chapel Hill branch of the Pope Center doing some late
night work and I believe I just saw what was Chapel Hill’s version of
this immigration national protest. If my estimates are correct, there
were about 200 people marching down Franklin Street, mostly Hispanics
but some not. They were chanting “USA,” and somewhere I heard the beat
to a popular Spanish hip hop song. People are blowing their horns in
support as they drive by. The louder the honk, the louder the crowd
gets.

So, this would be my second protest today. Of course, me being the
sports-loving guy that I am, I have to score these events. I’m giving
the advantage to the Hispanics over the New Black Panther Party. The
Hispanics had more energy without trying to intimidate anyone with
rhetoric and military uniforms.
