I first caught sight of the ‘Quarter Cent Makes Sense’ Web site over at over Guarino’s; Roch 101 asks where they get the 40 percent figure on out-of-town revenue. No answer yet.

Love the claim that the sales tax would reduce the property tax by 3 cents —-after commissioners raise it 8 cent, that is.

Yet another clumsy effort from the usual suspects. Kinda like the effort to lure Google, which cost the City of Greensboro over $16,000.

Update: Interesting that in today’s write-up the N&R mentions political problems for Guilford County Commissioner Linda Shaw. Little late for that, considering the fact that Shaw has her seat secured. But her opponent in the Republican primary —-local attorney and blogger Sam Spagnola— with a lot of help from Guarino—- hammered home the fact that Shaw voted to place bonds on the ballot, which now are resulting in the supposed need for sales tax increase.
