It’s interesting, and entertaining, to see liberals and Democrats calling each other racist. It’s usually conservatives they tag with that slur. Yesterday, Geraldine Ferraro was understandably outraged at being called racist for her observation that Barack Obama wouldn’t be a serious candidate if he were white. Now she knows how it feels.
My wife just this morning made the observation that, as a woman who backs John McCain, she’s among the group least caught up in the race-and-gender cult of identity politics. I think she’s right.
