Those criticizing the President and his policies are racist, at least according to former President Carter. The extreme left-wing media, such as the New York Times and MSNBC, also have been making the same case.
In an op-ed I wrote last week, I discuss the far left’s attempts at using race to chill speech.
One of the things I wrote about is Maureen Dowd’s column in which she tries to argue that Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) is a racist. As you’ll recall, Rep. Wilson yelled “You Lie” during President Obama’s address to Congress.
Here’s what I wrote:
According to Ms. Dowd, “But, fair or not, what I
heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy! The outburst was
unexpected from a milquetoast Republican backbencher from South
Carolina who had attracted little media attention.”
It’s quite
amazing how far she’s willing to go to stretch her argument so that it
fits her template of racist conservatives. Fair or not, Ms. Dowd, Rep.
Wilson didn’t say “boy.” He expressed his anger over a policy proposal.
I wonder what other things Ms. Dowd hears?probably whatever is
necessary to write her columns.
Recklessly using the racist label is a disgrace and shows how little substance the far-left’s arguments have and how far they are willing to sink to achieve their ends.
