Other John Locke Foundation experts joined Paul Chesser this week in highlighting concerns about energy-related issues. Carolina Journal Associate Editor and Carolina Journal Radio Co-Host Donna Martinez wrote a recent opinion piece about the potential impact of global warming alarmism on the type of food we’ll eat in the future. The Leland Tribune picked up that article. The Charlotte Observer also published a truncated version of a letter from Legal and Regulatory Policy Analyst Daren Bakst challenging the purported benefits of government-mandated energy-efficiency programs. Marketwatch.com used a story from the PR Newswire that cited JLF involvement in a highly publicized Colorado petition. The petition challenges Amendment 58, which would raise taxes on oil and natural gas production. The story includes the following passage: “Also among the signatories were representatives of some of the most
prestigious research institutions in the country, including the Hoover
Institution, the John Locke Foundation, the Manhattan Institute for
Policy Research, and the National Center for Policy Analysis.” (Emphasis added.)
