WRAL reports the new! improved! Fayetteville Street sidewalks suffered food stains from a recent festival.

Food vendors were to have set up in the street instead of on the sidewalks, but space considerations for a parade down Fayetteville Street likely required that vendors be on the sidewalks, festival organizers said.

But they also attribute problems to the consumers:

There were also dozens of smaller spots where festival attendees ate — and dripped and dropped — fried foods.

Possible Next Steps: Require visitors to stand in the street to eat their hot dogs. Put down drop cloths for hot dog consumers to stand over. Ban greasy food from Fayetteville Street. Put up signage and make Fayetteville Street a “No Food Or Drink” area.

Lest Likely Next Step: Get over it, it’s pavement.
