While the “Triangle” has had a few high ozone days this season–actually only four, none have occurred in Raleigh. So far, high ozone days have only occurred in the least populated sections of the Triangle. The only ozone monitors to record a code orange day this season have been in Fuquay-Varina (which includes yesterday’s code orange day), Butner in Franklin County, and a monitor located in West Johnston County. The major population centers of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill have had no ozone problems this season–in spite of the heat.
