When the first signs of spring start to show in North Carolina, I know that it means that Ramp Season is right around the corner.  I know some may be in confusion about this wild onion, but it has grown into a plant that is a cause of celebration
for a lot of folks in Appalachia.  In times past school kids would
eat ramps raw and be kicked out of class because they stunk so bad,
talk about discrmination.  So if your a connoisseur of gourment
foods, I recommend taking a trip to the mountains for a treat of some
Ramps!
