I have to commend the Randolph County board of Commissioners for taking
a stand on their spending practices. It seems a large sum of the
taxpayers’ money was going to fund the Pottery Museum in Seagrove.
Supporters of the North Carolina Pottery Center have called on potters
to attend next month’s meeting of the Randolph County commissioners to
seek reinstatement of more than $20,000 in funding for the museum.
The commissioners have deleted $23,700 earmarked for the center from their 2008 budget.
I have to say bravo for this action, now I only wonder if other elected
officials in the state will follow this example of fiscal control?
