Biz Journal reports:
An entity managed by the Piedmont Triad Partnership has contracts for “more than 800 and less than 1,000” acres at the Greensboro-Liberty megasite in Randolph County.
Sam Simpson, a Greensboro broker managing the contracting process, spoke Wednesday night to a meeting of the Northeast Randolph Property Owners Association, which represents landowners of the 2,030-acre tract in Randolph County that has been identified as a potential megasite that could play host to a large-scale manufacturer.
But then there’s the issue of money, which Simpson said “would have to come from somebody who has that kind of money, and that would be on the state level.” And the Biz Journal speculates the “tide may be turning in the favor of state assistance on large manufacturing projects,” gathering the money is often easier said than done.
